August 4, 2025 BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn — An early Sunday morning party in Brownsville ended in tragedy when gunfire erupted, leaving one man dead and another hospitalized. The shooting occurred just after 12:30 a.m. near a playground, shattering the peace of the residential neighborhood.
Police, responding to calls, arrived at 160 Glenmore Avenue to a chaotic scene. They discovered a 42-year-old man with a fatal gunshot wound to the stomach and a 41-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the leg. Both were rushed to a local hospital, where the older man was pronounced dead. The second victim is currently in stable condition, recovering from his injuries.
According to sources close to the investigation, the violence broke out during an outdoor gathering. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and authorities have made no arrests. The community is left grappling with the senseless violence. As one official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated, "Whatever the reason was that caused you to take a person's life and shoot another person is careless."
