August 6, 2025 BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn family is reeling and the community is on edge after a 17-year-old mother and her 10-month-old baby disappeared from their South Slope home this past weekend, prompting a city-wide search.
Michaela Lewis Paul, 17, and her son, Malcolm Rose-Lewis, were last seen leaving their apartment at 462 Prospect Avenue around 9 p.m. on Saturday. The young mother and her infant have not been seen or heard from since, and police are now turning to the public for assistance.
Authorities with the NYPD's 72nd Precinct, which serves the South Slope area, are leading the investigation. While details remain sparse, what is clear is the concern for the pair's well-being. It is currently unknown where they were headed when they left or if their departure was planned.
The search for the two is now in full swing, and detectives are asking anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. The NYPD has urged anyone who may have seen Michaela and Malcolm to contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted online at the Crime Stoppers website or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577. All calls and messages are confidential.
